In Baldi's Basics Plus 0.6 you step out of the elevator after Level 1 into a quiet little room with a storage locker, a poster about saving and the door to Johnny's Store, and for the first time the space between floors is a place you can actually walk around in. The Pitstop arrives here, and it reshapes how every run is paced.

The Pitstop Between Floors

The Pitstop loads between levels and before a level reloads after you lose a life. Inside you can shop at Johnny's Store, manage the storage locker, save and quit using the new poster, and prepare for field trips that were still in development at the time.

An elevator skip button lets you jump straight to the next floor if you do not need anything. Speedrunners use it constantly, while most players stop in to check the shelves at least once per run.

The Pitstop gave the game a natural breathing moment. Before it, floors ran together and there was no real place to plan, which made long sessions feel tiring for a lot of players.

Johnny's Store Gets a Real Room in Baldi's Basics Plus 0.6

Johnny's Store became a 3D room where you buy items with YTPs. Items can go on sale at random discounts, and once per game Johnny will lend you YTPs for an item if you are 100 YTPs or less short. A tooltip box in the HUD shows item descriptions while you browse.

In Endless Mode the store opens after five notebooks and restocks every five notebooks after that. All YTP values are tripled there, and Johnny can even be robbed, which became a favorite community joke and a risky high-score strategy.

The YTP display now rises from the bottom of the screen, tallies what you earned and lowers again, and it stays up while you are in the store. New sounds play for 25, 50 and 100 YTP pickups, so you can tell what you grabbed without looking.

The Storage Locker and Its Risks

A storage locker appears in a random hall spot on every floor and in the Pitstop. It holds up to three items that carry over between floors, saving when you finish a floor or leave the Pitstop and resetting when you lose a life.

Using it always comes with consequences. Closing the locker makes a loud noise that Baldi hears, and opening it gets you in trouble with Principal of the Thing until the door shuts. If you walk away while it is open, it closes by itself.

Players quickly learned to visit the locker only when Baldi is far away and the principal is out of sight. The "Nothing" item now fills empty locker slots with a question mark icon, so you always know how many slots are still open.

Baldi TV, Diet BSODA and Reworked Items

Event text at the bottom of the screen was replaced by Baldi TV. A small TV drops down from the upper left and shows announcements, usually with Baldi speaking. It is one of the most recognizable visual touches of the game and the moment most players realize an event like the Test Procedure is starting.

Diet BSODA was added with its own vending machines. It works like BSODA but the spray lasts only three seconds, and regular BSODA became much rarer, so Diet BSODA now appears about as often as the original used to.

WD-NoSquee was reworked into a quiet zone about five cells wide that lasts five minutes and can be placed anywhere. The Dirty Chalk Eraser cloud now also makes you invisible, and the random event order and timing change on every attempt while the event set still depends on the seed.

Field Trips Move to the Pitstop

Field trips stopped loading inside floors and are now reached from the Pitstop. The camping trip was removed for a while as a new version was being built, so this version has no playable field trip yet.

Lighting is now recalculated while you play, which means light reacts to changes in the environment. A placed Portal Poster, for example, lets light pass through, a small detail that makes the school feel more solid.

Some players missed the old camping trip and saw its removal as a step back. In hindsight, it cleared the way for the much bigger field trip system that followed.

Common Questions About Baldi's Basics Plus 0.6

  1. How many items can the storage locker hold? Three. They carry over between floors and save when you finish a floor or leave the Pitstop, but the locker resets if you lose a life, so do not stash your only Zesty Bar right before a risky chase.
  2. Why does Principal of the Thing chase me at the locker? Opening a storage locker counts as breaking a rule, and you stay guilty until the door closes. Close it quickly and make sure he is not nearby when you open it.
  3. What is the difference between BSODA and Diet BSODA? Diet BSODA sprays for only three seconds while regular BSODA lasts longer. In this version BSODA is much rarer, so Diet BSODA is the one you will usually find in vending machines.

Baldi's Basics Plus 0.6 gave every run a place to stop and think, and a visit to Johnny's Store with a full storage locker and a fresh Diet BSODA in hand is still how most good runs begin.
