Baldi's Basics plus 0.9

The first classroom in Baldi's Basics Plus 0.9 is not part of a real run at all. It is the opening of an interactive tutorial level, and for players who had never touched the game before, it finally explained what the Pitstop, the storage locker and Johnny's Store are for instead of leaving them to guess.
The Interactive Tutorial Level
On a fresh save file the game offers the tutorial the first time you click Play, and a new tutorial button on the mode select screen lets you return to it later. The level walks you through movement, items and activities with a brand-new set of Baldi voicelines.
Chalk boards in the tutorial show the controls you currently have set, and they refresh when you unpause. If you rebind a key mid-lesson, the boards update immediately, which is a thoughtful touch for controller players.
The tutorial has its own quirks. Item prices in its version of Johnny's Store are higher, and Johnny again lets you buy items if you are up to 100 YTPs short. A third classroom was added to the final section to stop players from rushing through, and the window between the first hall and the principal's office was removed so the lesson about Principal of the Thing lands properly.
The Hide & Seek Menu in Baldi's Basics Plus 0.9
Hide & Seek now has its own menu with the Play Style, challenge options and seed input in one place. Explorer mode moved here as a play style option, so it is easy to find for anyone who wants to wander a floor without pressure.
When a saved game exists, a new button lets you start fresh alongside Continue and warns you that the current save will be lost. That small warning prevented a lot of accidental wipes that players used to complain about.
Settings from this menu no longer apply to every mode, and saved games are only erased when you actually start a new game. Before this fix, simply trying another mode could wipe a promising run, which was one of the most frustrating bugs of earlier builds.
New Animations and Small Touches
Baldi gained a speaking animation that lip-syncs to his voice. It appears in the tutorial and when you complete an activity correctly, which makes his praise moments feel more alive. After his countdown he now flashes a quick smile before going back to his ruler pose, a detail many players only notice on their second or third run.
An in-game keyboard lets you name a save file with a controller, and if no save files exist the game jumps straight to it on startup. Lockdown doors that cannot be closed once opened appear in the tutorial as well.
Some veterans felt this version was light on new floors or characters. For new players, though, it is probably the most welcoming update the game has had.
Fixes and Quirks Worth Knowing in Baldi's Basics Plus 0.9
Conveyor belts and the Cloudy Copter's wind now propagate sound correctly, so you can hear a belt or a gust from the right direction instead of from nowhere. BSODA also pushes characters properly through belts and wind when they enter those areas after being sprayed, which makes a well-aimed can far more reliable on busy floors.
Inside the tutorial, Baldi used to repeat his instructions every time a BSODA went into and out of the storage locker. Now he only repeats the spray lesson when you use a quarter on the BSODA machine, and the buttons behind tutorial prompts can no longer be clicked by accident.
Baldi no longer gets stuck on his praise sprite in certain situations, and item icons for slots lost to the shrinking inventory challenge now show correctly after you lose and reload. Players who run challenge settings will appreciate that last fix, since a wrong icon could make you think you still had a Zesty Bar you had already lost.
Baldi's Basics Plus 0.9 is the version to recommend to a friend who has never met Principal of the Thing, because the tutorial's chalk boards and the BSODA machine lesson make the first real floor far less brutal.
