Pitstop Checklist
The Pitstop is the only safe planning window in a Baldi's Basics Plus run, with unlimited stamina and no item use, so a fixed checklist turns it into a few seconds of setup that pay off on the next floor.
Before You Leave the Elevator
- Read the chalkboard. It names the next floor type: School, Maintenance, Factory or Laboratory.
- Count your power tubes. On Arcade or Strict, lean toward escape items over YTP-earning tools.
- Check your YTPs. Johnny will cover up to 100 YTPs once per game, so a near-miss purchase can still happen.
Shopping by Floor Type
| Next floor | Priority items | Why |
|---|---|---|
| School (Levels 1-3) | Map, Energy Flavored Zesty Bar | Time limits reward fast routing |
| Maintenance | Zesty Bar, Swinging Door Lock | Blown fuses darken the floor and lock elevators |
| Factory | Super Stretchy Glove, BSODA | Belt buttons and roto-halls control the routes |
| Laboratory | 'Nana Peel, Invisibility Elixir | Faculty Only Doors and crowded teleporter rooms |
Locker, Stickers and Bus
- Storage locker: bank up to three items for later floors; contents reset if you lose a life.
- Packet-O-Matic: apply stickers, up to four at once; use the Glue Stick on a sticker you want for the whole run.
- Bus: with a Bus Pass, a field trip can win three items from eight.
- Save & Quit poster: save the run here if you need to stop.
Last Checks on the Way Out
Skip the Pitstop only when nothing in the store helps: turn around in the elevator and press its button. Otherwise leave through the elevator after buying, and remember that the next floor's elevator also needs its button pressed once every notebook is collected.
On Strict, put YTPs into escape items rather than saving them, since a single lost power tube ends the run. On Normal, banking a strong item in the storage locker for Level 5 is often the better play.
The item effects behind this checklist are in the items and YTPs guide, and field trip details are in the field trips guide.
